EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fresh off a tournament victory at the Kepler Intercollegiate last weekend, Northwestern returns to action against a strong field Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, at the U.S. Intercollegiate hosted by No. 4 Stanford.
The 17-team field features an international entry in St. Andrews University of Scotland along with five top-25 teams, including top-10 foes No. 3 USC, No. 4 Stanford and No. 8 Washington. Five of the nation's top-25 individual golfers in the Golfweek rankings also are in the field.
The tournament will be held on the 6,727-yard, par-70 Stanford Golf Course, beginning Saturday morning with a 9:30 a.m. CT/7:30 a.m. local time shotgun start. After 36 holes Saturday, the teams will play the final round with another 9:30 a.m. CT/7:30 a.m. local time shotgun start Sunday.
Northwestern bested 12 teams to win the Kepler Intercollegiate April 11-12, with four golfers finishing in the top-14 in the individual standings. Sophomore Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) led the way for NU with a career-best second-place finish. After this weekend, Northwestern is off until the Big Ten Championships May 1-3.
