EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University cross country coach Amy Tush today announced the addition of 11 student-athletes to her 2006 roster. All will be eligible to compete this fall for the Wildcats who add to their already young and talented squad.

Newcomers include April Schattner (Eagle River, Wis./Three Lakes), Carla Wirtschafter (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills), Jessica Danielson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), Britta Helwig (Chicago, Ill./Luther North), Glen Hajost (Ft. Collins, Colo./Poudre), Diana Burk (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac), Kate Cline (Brecksville, Ohio/Broadview Heights), Elizabeth Boyle (Elmhurst, Ill./Fenwick), Elana Rodman (Boston, Mass./Walt Whitman) and sophomore Elizabeth Hohl.

Those members join Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) who signed with the Wildcats back in December. Additionally, Marielle Gilbert returns to the Wildcat roster this season after studying abroad last year.

"All of our newcomers have the potential to come in and compete at a high level," Tush said. "We are really looking especially for Britta, Elana and Paulina to mesh well with the rest of the team and step into the ranks of our top ten. I think this class should impact us immediately. We have a very young team this year and I will be leaning a lot on our captains and upperclassman to nurture our newcomers to help us reach our goals that we have set forth."
