‘Cats Top First USTFCCCA 10,000m National Event Squad Rankings

Northwestern owns four of Big Ten’s top 11 times in event
EVANSTON, Ill. (April 1, 2026) – Following a successful start to its outdoor track season last weekend, Northwestern is ranked No. 1 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 10,000m National Event Squad Rankings.
The Wildcats enjoyed a banner showing in the 10,000m run this past Friday at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. Leading the charge was Ava Criniti, who shattered the previous school record by over 30 seconds with a time of 33:19.10. Jackie Holman found herself only 13 seconds back of Criniti, also coming in under the previous program record at 33:32.10, a time that now ranks second all-time at Northwestern.
Running alongside Criniti and Holman, Maddy Whitman clocked in at 33:58.28 to move to fifth in Wildcat annals, while Mia Mraz rounded out Friday evening for the 'Cats with a time of 35:33.99.
Northwestern, which sports an average time in the event of 34:05.87, sits in front of Duke (2nd; 34:20.08) and Minnesota (3rd; 34:22.89) in the first 10,000m rankings of the outdoor season. The 'Cats currently own four of the Big Ten Conference's top 11 times in the event.
Northwestern is back in action next week, April 10-11, at the Chicagoland Championships in Elmhurst, Ill.
