Northwestern Releases 2026 Outdoor Track Schedule

‘Cats to see action in seven regular season meets ahead of postseason competition
EVANSTON, Ill. (March 23, 2026) – After completing an indoor campaign filled with countless standout performances, the Northwestern University track team unveiled its 2026 outdoor schedule on Monday. Piloted by seventh-year head coach Jill Miller, the 'Cats will see action in seven regular season meets before postseason competition begins in May.
"We were incredibly impressed with how our student-athletes embraced every opportunity throughout the indoor track season and rose to the occasion at the Big Ten Championships," Miller said. "We're excited to build on this momentum, continue learning during the regular season, and be fully prepared for championship season when May arrives."
Northwestern will raise the curtain on its outdoor slate by splitting its squad to compete at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. and the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo., March 26-27.
A jam-packed month of April kicks off close to home at the Chicagoland Championships, April 10-11 in Elmhurst, Ill. The 'Cats then jet west to Azusa, Calif. for the Bryan Clay Invitational, April 16-17, as part of a week where they will also see action at the Gibson Invitational (April 17) in Terre Haute, Ind. Northwestern closes out the month with a visit to the City of Brotherly Love for the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 25.
After heading north to Madison, Wis. to wrap up the regular season at the Wisconsin Twilight on May 1, the 'Cats travel to Lincoln, Neb. for the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, May 15-17.
The University of Arkansas will serve as the host for the NCAA West Preliminary, May 27-30, while the NCAA Outdoor Championships will again return to historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., June 10-13.
