Wildcats Down Indiana in Thriller 148-140

EVANSTON, Ill. - 22nd-ranked Northwestern defeated No. 21 Indiana in a 148-140 thriller Saturday. The outcome of the meet was in jeopardy throughout the entire competition, but Wildcats won the 200 free relay in the meet's final event to claim the victory.
Shelby Clark, Ben Dexter, Matt Wever, and Tony Swanson combined to win the 200 free with a time of 1:22.54.
Swanson, who led off the winning relay team, also claimed first-place finishes in the 100 back with a time of 50.13 and the 100 free, finishing in 45.48.
Freshman Matt Grevers continued to impress in his young career. He broke his own personal record in the 100 back during his leg of the 400 medley relay with a time of 48.95. He also finished first in the 50 and 200 free (20.62, 1:39.71) and the 200 back with a time of 1:48.01.
Louis Torres dominated the breaststroke events for the second week in a row. He posted first place finishes in the 100 and 200 breast with times of 56.68 and 2:03.72, respectively.
Senior Mark Hamming won the 100 fly with a time of 49.69 and swam an excellent fly leg in the 400 medley relay as well. Diver Mike Oxman posted a first-place finish in the 3-meter event and finished second in the 1-meter.
The 'Cats head to Madison Thursday for a dual meet with the nationally ranked Wisconsin Badgers. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
