The men's tennis team fell to 8-5 on the season after dropping a 6-1 decison Wednesday to 14th-ranked South Alabama.

Junior transfer Ryan Edlefsen picked up NU's only win versus the Jaguars. He defeated Zlatko Stupavsky (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) at No. 5 singles. Coach Paul Torrcelli mixed up the `Cats lineup inserting Brad Erickson back at No. 1 singles where he was a staple last season. In addition Ahmed Wahla paired with Jackie Jenkins at No. 3 doubles.

Erickson was named Big Ten Tennis Athlete of the Week for his 3-0 performance at the Blue-Gray Invitational last weekend. Erickson defeated all three of his opponents in straight sets.
