MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Northwestern men's tennis sent two players to compete in the 2025 Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend. Chad Miller and Vincent Yang took to the courts for both singles and doubles play in their first matches of the fall season.

After receiving a first-round bye in singles play, Miller collected a victory against Indiana's Karan Raghavendra by winning in three sets (6-3, 5-7, 10-5) to advance to the round of 16. There, he took on Purdue's Henrik Villanger in hopes of reaching the quarterfinals. He lost the first set 2-6, then made a comeback with a 6-2 second-set victory, but couldn't close out, losing to his opponent in an 8-10 final set. Miller wrapped up his weekend in consolation play, where he defeated Matthew Burton from Oregon (7-6 (7-3), 6-3).

In the doubles competition, Miller joined forces with Yang. The pairing came off a first-round bye to get an early 6-4 win over UIC, qualifying them for the quarterfinals. There they lost in a tiebreak, 6-7 (3-7), to the University of Oregon's team. In the consolation bracket, Miller and Yang defeated the duo from Marquette with a score of 6-4.

For his part, Yang fell in two sets to Maximus Dussault from Texas Christian University (4-6, 2-6) to begin his weekend of singles play. In the consolation bracket, he went undefeated, putting up a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 win against Thomas Giles of DePaul and a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Teddy Wong (Marquette).

Next up for the 'Cats, they will continue their fall tournament season on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Hope RSM Invite in Holland, Mich.
