EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern golfer Luke Donald advanced to the quarterfinal round of match play at the 100th U.S. Amateur Championship, defeating both Andy Miller (Napa, Calif.) and David Patrick (Scotland) 5 and 3. Donald used back nine surges to defeat both golfers. In both matches he made the turn just 1 up.

Donald tees off tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Bryce Molder (Conway, Ariz.) who defeated David Miller (Daphne, Ala.) 1 up.
