EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern lost to Michigan State in East Lansing on Friday, 1-0. Despite outshooting the Spartans, 13-10, the Wildcats suffered their fifth straight loss, four of which have been decided by one goal.
Aileen Guiney (Naperville, Ill./North) led the `Cats with five shots. The score was tied, 0-0, at halftime, but then 14 minutes into the second half MSU's Erica Whatley received a pass from Trisha Kenny to give the Spartans the win.
Erin Ekeberg (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) had yet another strong showing in the NU goal, stopping eight shots.
