Christine McBeath Named Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer head coach Michael Moynihan announced the addition of assistant coach Christine McBeath on Tuesday.
"Christine is going to be a great addition to our program," Moynihan said. "She was a collegiate team captain at St. John's and graduated summa cum laude, so she can help our players manage the balance of vigorous academics with elite athletics. As a coach, she is energetic, passionate about soccer, and has already gained valuable collegiate coaching experience working under some great coaches. Our student-athletes will benefit greatly by having another strong role model and mentor."
A Williamsburg, Va. native, McBeath comes to Northwestern with strong coaching experience across multiple schools.
McBeath most recently was an assistant coach at George Mason. Under her tutelage at GMU, Zoë Vidaurre was named Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference, the first Patriot to receive postseason all-conference honors since 2016.
Prior to her tenure at George Mason, McBeath spent three seasons at Utah. During her tenure in Salt Lake City, she worked with the defensive unit to reduce their goals against average from 1.50 to 1.12 and lowered their shots allowed per game from 13.0 to 11.4.
In 2020, she served as a volunteer assistant at Stanford. In addition to her duties at Stanford, she was the Head Coach at Palo Alto Soccer Club Girls Academy.
As a player at St. John's, she made 55 starts in 66 appearances and was named as a captain in her senior season, leading the team in minutes played in 2019 and ranking.
McBeath currently holds a USSF "B" License, graduated with a summa cum laude from St.John's with a degree in finance from the Tobin College of Business in December of 2019.
