Women's Soccer falls to Iowa, 2-1

EVANSTON, Ill. -
The Wildcats lost to the Iowa Hawkeys, 2-1, in Iowa City, Iowa. Northwestern started the game well, scoring in the 16th minute. Katie Hertz (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) headed in the lone goal for the `Cats off a corner kick from Shay Unterreiner (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy).
The Hawkeyes came back in the second half to spoil the Wildcat lead as Linzy Wolman scored off a corner kick. Twenty-one seconds later, teammate Kate Walse passed to Sarah Lynch who broke away from the NU defense to the right corner to score in the 51st minute. The Wildcat comeback attack failed for the rest of the game as they suffered their fourth straight loss.
Northwestern was outshot 25-15. Erin Ekeberg (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) played a great defensive game as she recorded twelve saves. The Wildcats are now 2-7-1 overall, 1-4-0 in conference action.
