Men's Golf Leads Marshall Invitational After Two Rounds

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern men's golf team, ranked 12th in the country, leads the Marshall Invitational after Friday's opening two rounds. NU posted team scores of 298-294 for a total of 592, two strokes ahead of Toledo and three strokes ahead of Notre Dame.
Individually, David Shaffer leads the Wildcat attack, tied for fifth place at four-over-par 146. Illinois' D.A. Points leads the tournament at even-par 142. Jess Daley (t7th, 147) and Erik Ciotti (t10th, 148) also are among the top 10 players after two rounds. Play on Friday was delayed for over an hour by rain and winds gusted up to 40 miles per hour at times.
Team and NU's individual results appear below. The final round is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday.
