Swim Teams Sweep at the NU Relays

EVANSTON, Ill. - The 10th-ranked Northwestern women's swim team swept every event at Sunday's NU Relays, while the men won all but two as the Wildcats swept at the Norris Aquatics Center.
The women, who opened up the 1999-2000 campaign Saturday with a Big Ten win over Indiana, swept the Hoosiers and four other schools en route to the win. The Wildcats scored 220 points, while IU was second with 166 to narrowly edge Michigan State (164).
On the men's side, meanwhile, NU won everything but the 800 and 1500 free relays. As a team, the Wildcats scored 212 points, while Michigan State scored 172.
The men ? who defeated UW-Milwaukee in a dual meet Friday to open the campaign ? open the Big Ten dual meet season Nov. 11 against Wisconsin. From there, the men and the women move on to Minnesota for a Nov. 13 meet.
