EVANSTON, Ill. - Despite a standout night from Jennifer Zagorski, the Northwestern women's volleyball team was defeated by Michigan State Friday in East Lansing, 3-0. Game scores were 15-8, 15-2, 15-2.

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 2-15 (0-7 Big Ten), while the Spartans improved to 13-7 (3-5 Big Ten).

Zagorski recorded 13 kills with just one error on 22 attempts for an astounding .545 kill percentage, while also collecting seven digs. Leah Ackerman also had a superb performance, connecting for a .316 kill percentage (9K-3E-19Att.). However, as a team the Wildcats hit just .192 on the night, while Michigan State connected at a .440 clip.

The Spartans were led by Erin Hartley, who had 20 kills and 11 digs, while Sarah Gustin had 16 kills and Jessica Sanborn added 13 kills and eight blocks (2 solo, 6 assisted). Defensively, Northwestern's Carmen Burbach had nine digs.

Northwestern will be back in action Saturday night at Michigan.
