Luke Donald Named Rolex College Golfer of the Month

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's golfer Luke Donald, the 1999 NCAA champion, was named the Rolex Men's College Golfer of the Month for September.
Donald won the individual medalist honors at the Ping/Golfweek Preview, which featured one of the strongest men's events on the Rolex Collegiate Tour schedule. He fired an eight-under par 208 (68-73-67) while leading Northwestern to the team title. He also topped the leaderboard at the Wildcats' own Windon Memorial Classic held in Lake Forest, Ill. Donald shot rounds of 71-67-71 for a four-under par total of 209, defeating a duo that included 1998 NCAA champion James McLean of Minnesota by five strokes.
Donald finished the month with a stroke average of 69.33 per round, tops in the country.
