Townsend joined the Northwestern men’s basketball program as a graduate manager in June of 2018. As a graduate manager, Townsend is responsible for game and scout preparation, undergraduate managers, player development and analytics.
 
Townsend came to Northwestern from Marian University in Indianapolis, where he served as the director of basketball operations for the men’s basketball program in 2017-18. While at Marian, he was responsible film breakdown, recruiting, game planning, team travel, scheduling and analytics.
 
Prior to Marian, Townsend worked as a senior financial analyst at Eli Lilly & Company, supporting research and development.
 
Townsend graduated from Indiana in 2014 with a degree in finance and highest academic distinction honors.
 
He is a native of Zionsville, Indiana and is married to the former Elise Madrick.
