Austin Brobst is entering his second year as assistant coach of the Women's Cross Country team after joining the staff in 2016. 

Brobst joined the Wildcats with six years of assistant coaching experience and four additional years of coaching as a graduate assistant. Brobst coached at the University of New Mexico from 2011 to 2015 and at the Academy of Art University for six months in 2011.

Brobst also served as the head recruiting coach at the National Collegiate Scouting Association for six months in 2016. 

When Brobst was at the University of New Mexico, he coached one national champion, ten All-Americans and 28 qualifiers to the NCAA first round. During his tenure, the Lobos secured 14 Mountain West team titles across the men's and women's programs. 

So far at Northwestern, Brobst has helped mentor one first-team All-Big runner and two Midwest All-Region runners.

Brobst graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Art Education, and he earned a Masters of Science in Sports Administration there in 2011.
