Evans transferred to Northwestern in June, 2012, after spending his undergraduate career at Stanford and earning his degree in sociology. Evans is pursuing a master's degree in Northwestern's School of Continuing Studies.

High School: Graduated from Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz., after attending Hamilton High School for three years (2004-06) ... Started at defensive back at Hamilton as a junior ... Ranked the No. 49 cornerback nationally and the No. 17 recruit from Arizona byScout.com ... A two-way player who made 56 tackles, picked off one pass and had nine passes defended at corner ... Also rushed for 916 yards and nine touchdowns on 105 carries (8.7 average per rush) on offense as a senior in 2007 when he was a first team all-state Class 5A selection by the Arizona Republic ...
