Football Gameday Transportation

• From the North: Take I-94 to Skokie Blvd/ Route 41 Exit. Exit ramp becomes Skokie Boulevard. Continue south to Lake Avenue (2nd traffic light). Turn left on Lake Avenue and proceed east to Sheridan Road and continue south to football parking lots.

• From the South: Take I-90/94. Where I-90 and I-94 split, take I-94 towards Milwaukee. Follow I-94 to Dempster Street east and proceed east on Dempster Street to Chicago Avenue. Turn left onto Chicago Avenue and proceed north to football parking lots.

• Alternate Route from the South: Take Lake Shore Drive north to Sheridan Road. Continue north on Sheridan Road until you arrive at the Evanston Campus. Proceed to the football parking lots.

• From the West/O'Hare Airport: Take I-55, I-88 or I-90 to I-294. Follow I-294 north to Dempster Street east. Proceed east on Dempster Street to Chicago Avenue. Turn left on Chicago Avenue and proceed north to football parking lots.

• Alternate Exit from I-294 and I-94: Take Touhy Avenue east and proceed to McCormick Boulevard. Turn left on McCormick Boulevard and proceed north to Dempster Street. Turn right on Dempster Street and proceed east to Forest Avenue. Turn left on Forest Avenue and proceed north to football parking lots.

• Ryan Field Address: 1501 Central St. Evanston, IL 60208

• There is no day of game parking in the lots surrounding Ryan Field. The east and west side stadium lots, as well as the golf course and covered parking lots, are reserved for those with parking permits only. If you do not have a season parking permit, proceed to the designated free campus and city parking lots to avoid congestion. Street parking around the stadium is extremely limited, and violators will be towed. A full map is available below.
 

•Beginning with the UNLV game on Saturday, Sept. 14, additional day-of-game parking is now available in the East Golf Lot (at Canal Shores hole #3). A parking permit is not needed for this lot. The lot entrance is located off Isabella Street just west of Girard Avenue and just east of the canal on the south side of the street. This lot will accomodate, on a first-come first-serve basis, persons looking for parking or tailgating. Pricing fluctuates according to the game.




• RV Parking – Surface parking lot at Noyes and Sheridan streets (no parking prior to 4 p.m. on Friday)

• Ride the Purple CTA line to the Central Street train station, 2 blocks east of Ryan Field. Parking is available at both the Howard and Linden Stations. Visit the CTA Sports Destination website for more information.

For Northwestern students/personnel and fans of Ryan Field/Welsh Ryan competitions on the main Evanston campus, free shuttle buses run to the Ryan Field/Welsh-Ryan Arena complex on Central Street for all Wildcats football games. The buses begin running approximately two hours before football games.

The shuttle stops are at the following locations on campus (all stops on East side of street pre-game and West side post-game):

• Noyes and Sheridan(Tech Building)

SOUTH CAMPUS SHUTTLE

DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE
• Sherman and Lake
• Davis and Orrington
• Church and Orrington
• Clark and Maple
• SW corner of Maple and Emerson

Postgame shuttles will load on Ashland Ave. (on the west side of Ryan Field). Shuttles will drop-off both North and South Campus routes, and any ADA shuttle pick-up and drop-off will occur on Ashland by Gate M. Fans should board the shuttle labeled for the route that they’d like to take:

• Construction with lane closures at the intersection of Lincoln and Sheridan Roads in Evanston
• Construction with lane closures at the intersection of Golf Road and McCormick in Evanston/Skokie
• Lane closures in both directions on Lake Shore Drive near downtown Chicago
