Northwestern Athletic Hall of Fame
Since 1984, Northwestern University has proudly welcomed extraordinary individuals into its prestigious Athletic Hall of Fame. These members exemplify exceptional athletic skill, academic excellence, and the highest standards of character, embodying the true spirit of what it means to be a Wildcat. Each inductee is meticulously chosen by our dedicated committee, as outlined in our bylaws, ensuring that only the very best join our esteemed ranks.
For the first 20 years, Northwestern inducted individuals based on two categories: the Pioneer Era (consisting of any graduating class 50 years or more prior to the induction year) and the Contemporary Era (spanning the 50 most recent years, excluding the five years prior to the current year). In 2004-05, the Hall of Fame Committee decided to eliminate the two categories and consider the credentials of any athlete, coach and administrator (athletes must still have graduated five years prior to the induction year).
Candidates who have made outstanding contributions to the success of Northwestern Athletics or who have excelled in their chosen athletically related fields are considered for honorary induction.
The public is welcome to submit nominations to be considered for placement on the ballot.
