Ralph T. Bryer (Swimming, 1923-24)

While competing as one of the greatest freestyle swimmers in NU history, Bryer's team remained undefeated in dual meets during his career. In all, Bryer earned four NCAA individual championships, leading NU to three consecutive team Big Ten and two NCAA championships.

At the 1924 Olympics in Paris, Breyer was a part of the U.S. men's gold medal-winning 4x200-meter freestyle relay team, and he won the Big Ten Medal of Honor the following year.
