EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's tennis Cooper Han has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his 3-0 weekend, helping NU improve to a six-match win streak.
Han, a first-year from Los Altos, Calif., is making an early impact on the courts for the 'Cats this spring. Six for six in his dual matches, Han has shown grit and consistency, winning 31-of-39 (.795) games in his finished matches last weekend.
Taking a 7-5, 6-2 road win at Alabama, and a 6-0, 6-0 victory at home against Chicago State, Han has helped NU get off to its best start to a dual season since 2022. Adding a 6-1 doubles win over Xavier, Han and the 'Cats claimed a 3-0 weekend of duals, now 6-2 on the season.

Han becomes the first Northwestern player this season to win a men's tennis weekly award, and the first Freshman of the Week for NU since Vincent Yang (March 5, 2025).

The 'Cats are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 8, on the road at Memphis. The dual is set to begin at 11 a.m. CT at the Leftwich Tennis Center.
