SCOUTING WISCONSIN
Ranked No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, Wisconsin (10-2-4, 3-2-4 B1G) arrives in Evanston as one of the Big Ten’s hottest teams, having gone unbeaten across its last seven games (5-0-2). Fifth-year head coach Neil Jones’ team continued its run of good form this past Friday, dispatching Michigan by a 2-1 final score at the McClimon Soccer Complex. Joaquin Torres and Ellis Jones accounted for the Badgers’ goals in the win, scoring over a 2:53 span in the early stages of the second half.

Led by the trio of Markie Hrvojevic, Matthew Zachemski, and Emile Kisse, all of whom have five goals to their name, Wisconsin features one of the Big Ten’s top attacks. The Badgers trail only No. 7 Washington on the conference’s scoring chart, with their 37 goals (2.31 goals per game) ranking 12th nationally in Division I.

Jones and Zachemski have impressed during league action, both netting a pair of goals. In addition to scoring the game-winning goal last Friday, Jones levied the deciding strike in Wisconsin’s thrilling 4-3 win over No. 10 UCLA on October 16.

Indiana transfer Judewellin Michel has dazzled in goal during his first season with the Badgers, posting a 1.01 goals against average across his 15 appearances. Michel’s five shutouts are good enough for third on the Big Ten leaderboard in the category.

SERIES STUFF
Wednesday’s regular season finale will serve as the 55th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Wisconsin. The Badgers are unbeaten in their last four tilts with the ‘Cats, a run that has seen Wisconsin extend its lead in the series between the two teams to 32-13-9 (.676).

Northwestern dropped a heartbreaker when the two teams battled last season in Wisconsin’s state capital, with a Thomas Raimbault goal in the 87th minute serving as the deciding strike in a 1-0 Badger victory.
