ROSEMONT, Ill. (October 22, 2026) - After leading the Wildcats to a fourth-place team finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate to close out the fall slate, Rebecca Wang has been recognized as this week’s Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. With an outstanding individual performance, Wang garnered her first Big Ten weekly honor.
Wang’s trip to Stanford was highlighted by a season-low round, with the first-year carding six birdies for a 4-under 67 on her second trip through the course. Sandwiched by two even-par performances, she finished the week with a final card of 209 (71-67-71). Wang finished ninth individually, and third amongst Big Ten competition.
Wang collected her second top-10 finish of her rookie campaign with a season-low 4-under 67 in her second round.
The result marks Wang’s second time finishing in the top 10, having earned a share of eighth place at the season-opening Badger Invitational in September.
