Kuan Zhou Tabbed for Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Following a career-best third-place finish at the Windon Memorial Classic, Northwestern first-year Kuan Zhou was named the Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. The award marks the first weekly honor in Zhou’s collegiate career.

Zhou opened his week at the par-70, 6,716-yard Onwentsia Club with a 1-over 71, before pacing the ‘Cats with a 2-under 68 in his middle round. The first-year from Houston, Texas, paired three birdies in his final round with an eagle on the par-5 third hole, his second eagle of the week, to fire a 4-under 66, matching his low score of the season to date. Zhou’s final round vaulted him up the leaderboard into third place, three shots back of the individual leaders.

Zhou tied his season low score with a 4-under 66 in his final round to vault into third place at the Windon Memorial Classic.

Zhou led all golfers at Northwestern’s annual home tournament with a par-5 scoring average of 3.87, placing second in the field with two eagles across the competition, both coming on the par-5 third hole.

Zhou and the Wildcats will return to the course in two weeks’ time at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, October 16-18, in Alpharetta, Georgia.
