2025 National Champion Lauryn Nguyen earns LPGA Tour card

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Northwestern alum and 2025 national champion Lauryn Nguyen has earned her LPGA Tour card for the 2027 season, courtesy of a top-15 finish on the Epson Tour’s Race for the Card.

Nguyen, a two-time All-American, turned professional following her graduation in 2025, making her Epson Tour debut at the Orlando Health Championship in March. She finished the year with five top-10 finishes, taking her maiden professional win at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship in June.

Nguyen earned her first professional win on the Epson Tour at the FireKeepers Championship in June.

“It means a lot,” Nguyen said. “This has been a goal for everyone. In junior golf, it’s always a dream to play on the LPGA Tour, and I don’t think people understand how long the process can be. It’s super, super special.”

A four-time All-Big Ten player, Nguyen was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2022, and was twice tabbed as an All-American by both Golfweek and the WGCA. She concluded her Northwestern career with two individual wins at the 2023 Windy City Collegiate Classic and the 2025 Silverado Showdown, and went 2-1 in match play at the NCAA Championship Finals to lead Northwestern to its first national championship in 2025.

Nguyen won two out of her three matches at the NCAA Championship Finals, defeating Arkansas' Clarisa Temelo in extra holes in the first round, to lead Northwestern to its first national championship in 2025.

Nguyen currently holds the program records in both single-season and career scoring average, and carded a 64 at the 2023 UCF Challenge to tie the lowest individual round in program history.

Nguyen made her LPGA debut last year at the ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, playing alongside Caitlin Clark in the pro-am.

“What a day for Lauryn and her family to see this dream of playing the LPGA Tour become a reality,” head women’s golf coach Emily Fletcher said. “We can’t stop smiling! We are so proud of Lauryn and can’t wait to celebrate with her in a few weeks when she is back on campus. Go ‘Cats!”

Nguyen will enter the 2027 LPGA season as a rookie, having made her tour debut at the 2025 ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican.
