Northwestern Hosts Indiana in Sunday Matinee

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern puts its six-game home conference unbeaten streak on the line when it hosts Indiana on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium is set for 1 p.m. CT on B1G+.

Last time out, the Wildcats (4-4-3, 2-1-1 Big Ten) blanked Oregon 1-0, behind junior midfielder/defender Ava Goodin’s first career goal. Goodin rose to meet senior forward Megan Norkett’s service and headed it home in the 23rd minute. The victory gave NU its fifth clean sheet of the season and its fourth win by a 1-0 scoreline.  

Sophomore goalkeeper Nyamma Nelson made four stops in the victory over Oregon. The West Linn, Ore., native registered her fourth clean sheet of the season and the 14th of her career, fourth-most in school history.

Northwestern is unbeaten in its last six home Big Ten games (5-0-1), dating back to Oct. 5, 2025.

All six field players in NU’s first-year class have appeared in a game this season, with defender/midfielder Naomi Lofthouse, midfielder Elle Phillips, defender Amber Weaver and defender/midfielder Gwen Zimmerman all earning starts.

Through 31 all-time meetings, NU and IU have played to an even 14-14-3 split. The two sides are meeting in Evanston for the first time since Oct. 8, 2021. NU is seeking its first win over the Hoosiers since Feb. 20, 2021.

Indiana (4-5-1, 1-3-0 Big Ten) is led offensively by third-year midfielder Maggie Ledwith with four goals and two assists. Fifth-year goalkeeper Dani Jacobson has posted a 1.68 goals against average and a .360 save percentage in 10 starts this season.

The Wildcats will visit No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 3. Kickoff from Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is slated for 4 p.m. CT on B1G+.
