Sessa Tabbed Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - Fresh off three road wins in California, Northwestern field hockey's Ashley Sessa was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. The senior forward had a Big Ten-best eight points over the weekend, helping the No. 1 ‘Cats improve to 9-0.

Collecting her first weekly accolade of the season, and seventh of her career, Sessa earns the honor after notching eight points in a trio of road victories. The senior posted two goals and four assists in three games, as the ‘Cats swept their West Coast weekend.

Sessa has the second-most assists in the conference and is tied for fifth-most points in the Big Ten through her seven games of play. Her eight-point performance increases her ‘Cats’ career scoring tally to 147 points (2024-present), moving into third place on Northwestern’s career scoring leaderboard.

The reigning back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year also collected First Team All-Conference and NFHCA All-American honors in 2025. Last season, Sessa was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 29, Oct. 20, Oct. 27), as well as NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 29. Her 2.95 points per game in 2025 ranked second-most in the nation, while she led the conference in assists and points. Sessa was also the last Wildcat chosen for Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 27, 2025).
