EVANSTON, Ill. (September 18, 2026) – After kicking off its 2026 season two weeks ago, Northwestern cross country will return to the course on Saturday morning at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Wildcats will compete in the women’s 6k open race at 8:40 a.m. CT on Indiana State University’s LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course as part of a field that also includes competitors from both Stanford and West Virginia.  Links to watch and follow live results from Saturday’s action can be accessed above.

Northwestern will have its sights set on a return to Terre Haute in late November, as Indiana State is set to play host to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 21.

Youth will be on full display for head coach Jill Miller’s team on Saturday morning in the Wabash Valley, with five first-years set to make their collegiate debuts for the Wildcats.

Northwestern opened its 2026 season on September 4 at the Badger Classic in Madison, Wis.  After battling multiple weather delays, the ‘Cats put on a great display in pack running, with all six of Northwestern’s runners crossing within a span of three-tenths of a second.

Following its trip to the Hoosier State, Northwestern, which debuted at No. 11 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Preseason National Coaches’ Poll, will be back in action at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Harbor in Chicago, Ill. on Friday, September 25.
