Ashley Yun Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – After pacing the Wildcats on the individual leaderboard at the season-opening Badger Invitational, senior Ashley Yun has been named the Big Ten Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. The award marks the second time Yun has received a weekly honor in her collegiate career.

Yun, set the mark for the ‘Cats in her first round, carding four birdies on her back nine en route to a 3-under 69 to open the event. Following a 74 in her second round, the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year rounded out her week with a 2-under 70 in her final round, finishing the event in third place as the Wildcats finished second in the team race.

The West Covina, Ca., product led the field in par-5 scoring at 8 under, while finishing with the second-most birdies in the field with 12 circles on her card throughout the week.

Yun and the Wildcats are back in action this week at the Mason Rudolph Championship, September 18-20, in Franklin, Tennessee.
