Three ‘Cats Tabbed to Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch List

EVANSTON – The Big Ten Conference released their Men’s Golf Preseason Players to Watch list Wednesday morning, with Rowan Sullivan, Jeremy Chen and Kuan Zhou each earning recognition.

Sullivan, a redshirt junior, is coming off a strong debut season in Evanston, where he placed second on the team with a scoring average of 71.57. The Charleston, S.C., product took five top-25 finishes on the season, including a T3 finish at the Colleton River Collegiate, earning him a place on the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Chen enters his senior season on the back of his strongest year with the Wildcats, posting a career-low 73.37 scoring average across 32 events. He finished third with 12 rounds at par or better for the Wildcats, and was named the recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive season.

Zhou joins the Wildcats as the fifth-ranked recruit in the 2026 Junior Golf Scoreboard Class. The first-year from Houston, Texas, placed third at the 2025 R&A Amateur, and reached the quarterfinals in this summer’s U.S. Junior Amateur. Zhou made his collegiate debut last week at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, where he placed in a share of 14th with a 4-under 67 in his second round.

The ’Cats will be back in action at the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Collegiate, September 18-20, in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
