EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern has released its non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season. The slate features 12 games, including eight non-conference games at home in Welsh-Ryan Arena and four neutral site games.

Northwestern will open the 2026-27 campaign with a five-game homestand. The Wildcats will face Binghamton in the season-opener at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Monday, Nov. 2, followed by matchups with Stony Brook (Nov. 6), Boston University (Nov. 9), DePaul (Nov. 13) and Columbia (Nov. 16).
Then, the ’Cats will travel to the ESPN Charleston Classic at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. for a pair of neutral site games on Friday, Nov. 20 and Sunday, Nov. 22. The MTE’s matchups will be revealed at a later date.
Five days later, Northwestern will return home to face Northeastern on Friday, Nov. 27. In between their first two Big Ten games, the Wildcats will take on BYU on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
On Wednesday, Dec. 16, the ’Cats will host Mercyhurst, before a neutral-site meeting with Oklahoma State on Sunday, Dec. 20 at BOK Center in Tulsa.
Northwestern will round out its non-conference slate at home against Chicago State on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
The Wildcats will also play a pair of exhibitions against Division I opponents, with an Oct. 18, road game at Illinois State and a final preseason test against Iowa State on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
This year, Northwestern Sullivan-Ubben Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Collins enters his 14th season at the program’s helm. The Wildcat roster includes 11 newcomers, including a pair of overseas first-years and six transfers from other Division I programs.
