SPARKS, Md. – Four Wildcats were invited to the U.S. Women’s Sixes Training Camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., USA Lacrosse announced this week.
Jenika Cuocco, Aditi Foster, Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor were among the 22 athletes invited to the five-day camp running Aug. 17-21. The team will host a free exhibition open to the public on Thursday, Aug. 20, at Tierney Field.
Cuocco will head straight to camp following the Women’s Lacrosse League championship game this Saturday at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa., where she and the Maryland Charm take on the California Palms. Game time for the championship contest is set for 4 p.m. CT, live on ESPN.
Foster enters training camp on the heels of a breakout second season at Northwestern, which saw her finish sixth in the Big Ten in goals (54), shots (135) and shots on goal (91). Foster started in all 22 games for the ’Cats, culminating in a three-goal, one-assist performance to clinch the National Championship title over North Carolina on home turf.
Scane and Taylor last shared a field in a gold medal performance with the U.S. Women’s Field National Team in early August at the Lacrosse World Championships in Tokyo. Scane and Taylor helped Team USA to its fifth-straight title and extended their senior field competition win streak to 36 consecutive games.
After a legendary career at NU, winning the 2023 National Championship and two Tewaaraton Awards, Scane became a staple star for Team USA in international competition while being a standout for the New York Charging in the WLL. At the World Championships in Tokyo, Scane recorded 15 points (10 goals, 5 assists) over six games, highlighted by a hat trick against the Haudenosaunee in pool play.
For Taylor, the summer has been nothing but success, kicking off with her second National Championship before being named the 2026 Tewaaraton Award winner. Taylor put on a show at the World Championships in Tokyo, ranking third in the competition in goals (16) and points (23).
The upcoming training camp is the first of two before the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 4 in Oshawa, Ontario. The tournament serves as a North American qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championship and begins the race to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
According to USA Lacrosse, “sixes is the rapid-fire, 6v6 version of lacrosse created in 2021 by World Lacrosse as part of the Olympic movement. The field is smaller, the quarters are shorter and draws occur only at the beginning of each quarter. The competition roster limit is 12.”
