GRANVILLE, Ohio (February 21, 2026) – For the second time in three seasons, No. 6 Northwestern fencing charged to the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) team title as the Wildcats opened competition at the CCFC Championships in Granville, Ohio.
Â
Â
The 'Cats claimed their second outright and third overall CCFC crown in a dominant showing, winning all six of their head-to-head matchups while finishing a combined 17-1 across all three weapons en route to sweeping the conference squad titles.
Â
Northwestern kicked off the day with three straight emphatic victories, cruising past Detroit Mercy, 26-1, before dispatching Cleveland State, 24-3, and Lawrence, 26-1.
Â
Led by a fourth consecutive 9-0 showing from its sabreists, the 'Cats battled past Wayne State, 19-8, ahead of a 25-2 blitz of host Denison, a victory that again featured an unblemished showing in the sabre.
Â
A marquee showdown with No. 7 Ohio State would decide the CCFC title after both teams started the event with sparkling 5-0 records. Northwestern left no doubt, picking up 6-3 wins in both epee and foil, along with a 5-4 victory in sabre, to secure the conference championship in a 17-10 triumph.
