Seymour Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week

Big Ten Release Opens in a new window
EVANSTON, Ill. - After claiming six event victories against Purdue and Minnesota, Northwestern's Stuart Seymour has been named Big Ten Men's Swimmer of the Week. The accolade is Seymour's first, announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.
The junior was tabbed for the honor after leading all Wildcat men, winning all six of the events he participated in. Individually, Seymour claimed victory in the 100 back (45.38 seconds) and 100 fly (45.65 seconds), in which he also set a new facility best. Also participating in four relays, Seymour contributed to four first-place finishes, including setting a pool record in the 400 free (2:50.40), good for third in the Big Ten.

Seymour's efforts helped push the 'Cats to defeating the Boilermakers and Gophers in last weekend's tri-dual meet to close the regular season. No. 20 Northwestern defeated Purdue 181-172 and Minnesota 214-139.
Seymour is the first Wildcat to be named Big Ten Men's Swimmer of the Week since Diego Nosack on Jan. 22, 2025.

NU is back in action at the Big Ten Championships, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Madison, Wisc.
