Wildcats to Face Virginia and South Carolina at The Greenbrier

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – The 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off schedule for Northwestern men's basketball has been finalized, with the Wildcats set to face Virginia on Friday, Nov. 21, followed by a matchup with South Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the historic West Virginia resort. Both games will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, with tip-off times to be announced.

Northwestern will meet South Carolina on the hardwood for the first time and take on Virginia for the first time since 2007.
Northwestern's 17 wins last season rank highest among all participating teams in the event. The 'Cats have only played in the Mountain State twice in program history, with the last matchup being against Marshall in the Marshall Tournament in Huntington, W.Va., on December 21, 1973.
The Greenbrier Tip-Off, which features eight teams participating in two divisions, is in its second year of existence. Wisconsin won the first Mountain Division championship last year in a field that also featured Pitt, LSU and UCF, while UTRGV claimed the River Division.
Nick Martinelli, the Big Ten's leading scorer last season, returns to the team after averaging 20.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in 2024-25. The team also welcomes a group of first-years ranked as the No. 23 recruiting class in the nation by 247Sports. Head coach Chris Collins, entering his 13th season, signed a contract extension this offseason through 2030.
Travel packages for fans looking to attend the event nestled within the Allegheny Mountains will be available in the coming weeks, but fans interested in securing packages and receiving additional event updates can register to receive email alerts at www.greenbriertipoff.com/travel. Packages will include game tickets to each Mountain Division game of the tournament and hotel accommodations on property. Ticket-only packages, based on availability, will go on sale in early fall.
