No. 2 Wildcats and No. 3 Eagles Square Off Once More in Final Four

EVANSTON, Ill. – For the sixth straight season, the No. 2 Northwestern lacrosse team has reached the Final Four.
The Wildcats (18-2) face No. 3 Boston College for the second time this season in Friday's NCAA semifinal at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The game is televised nationally on ESPNU and is expected to start at 4:30 p.m. CT, following the conclusion of the semifinal matchup between North Carolina and Florida.
Friday's meeting is a rematch of the last two NCAA finals, with Northwestern prevailing in the 2023 meeting, 18-6, and Boston College (19-2) rallying to win the 2024 title, 14-13. These teams also met earlier this season in Evanston, where BC won 13-9 in Ryan Fieldhouse on Feb. 15.
Madison Taylor scored six goals to break the NCAA's single-season goal record. Her second straight game with 10+ points also broke the school points record and lifted the Wildcats to a 17-12 victory over Penn in the NCAA quarterfinal. In two NCAA Tournament games, Taylor has 21 points on 16 goals and five assists. Niki Miles (2 goals, 1 assist), Lucy Munro (2 goals, 1 assist), Taylor Lapointe (2 goals), Riley Campbell (1 goal, 1 assist) and Aditi Foster (2 goals) each recorded multiple points for the 'Cats.
The win extended the Wildcats' winning streak to 10 games and improved them to 35-0 in home NCAA Tournament games under Big Ten Coach of the Year Kelly Amonte Hiller, putting them in the NCAA semifinal round for the sixth-straight season. Delaney Sweitzer made six saves to improve to 16-2 on the season.
Northwestern is 6-8 all-time against Boston College, with BC claiming the last two meetings in the series. Since the start of the 2022 season, these programs have met six times and split them evenly at 3-3.
