Surging Wildcats Prepare for Big Ten Championships

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Following a team three-peat and back-to-back individual titles by Lauryn Nguyen and Dianna Lee, the Northwestern University Women's Golf team will begin its postseason journey this weekend at the 2025 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships in Havre de Grace, Md. The event runs Friday, April 18 through Sunday, April 20, with Sunday's final round being broadcast on Big Ten Network from 12:00 p.m. CT - 3:00 p.m. CT.
This marks the second consecutive year Bulle Rock Golf Course, a five-time site of the KPGM Women's PGA Championship, will host the conference championship.
Play will consist of 54 holes, with single rounds played daily. Action on both Friday and Saturday will get underway at 7:30 a.m. CT, while Sunday's final round is set to begin at 7:00 a.m. CT. Northwestern will begin at 9:10 a.m. CT on Friday, paired with Oregon and USC.

Led by six-time Big Ten Coach of the Year Emily Fletcher and assistant coach Beth Miller, a duo that has led the 'Cats to three Big Ten Conference Championships, Northwestern enters the postseason ranked as one of the top 10 teams in the country.
The Wildcats return to the tournament following a third-place finish in 2024. Lauryn Nguyen took fourth place at five-under-par en route to being named to the Big Ten All- Championship Team. Nguyen was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team alongside Jennifer Cai, with Jieni Li and Ashley Yun placing on the Second Team. Yun was also named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, while Dianna Lee earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
The Field
The No. 10 'Cats join the rest of their Big Ten counterparts in the field, including No. 5 Oregon, No. 7 USC, No. 14 Ohio State, No. 24 Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA, Washington and Wisconsin.
The Course
The event is being held at the Bulle Rock Golf Course (par 72; 6,235 yards) in Havre de Grace, Md. The course was designed by legendary designer Pete Dye.

The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a win, taking their third victory in as many seasons at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, California.
Nguyen took her second collegiate victory in convincing fashion, finishing the event at nine-under-par while the 'Cats concluded the event at three-under for a total of 861 (287-291-283).
The winner of the 2025 Big Ten Conference Championships will secure the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, May 5-7. This year's regional sites include Charlottesville, Va., Columbus, Ohio, Golf Canyon, Ariz., Lexington, Ky., Lubbock, Texas, and Norman, Okla. The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships will be hosted May 16-21 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
