HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (April 20, 2025) – The play of first-year Hsin Tai Lin was the story of the weekend for the Northwestern University Women's Golf team as it began its postseason journey at the 2025 Big Ten Championships in Havre de Grace, Md. The Taoyuan, Taiwan native stayed towards the top of the leaderboard throughout the event, eventually finishing tied for fifth by shooting a two-under-par 214 (72-71-71) and leading her team to a fifth-place finish. Three 'Cats – Lin, Ashley Yun, and Dianna Lee – finished in the Top 20 on the player leaderboard.
The No. 12 Wildcats finished play at the par-72, 6,235-yard Bulle Rock Golf Course with a ten-over-par 874 (293-291-290).
Oregon (-12; 286-290-276=852) dominated the competition this weekend, sweeping both the team and individual championships. Their final round of 12-under-par secured the team title by 14 strokes over Michigan State, who had led after two rounds. Duck Kiara Romero (-7), the No. 5 player in the country, bested Wisconsin's Kate Brody (-4) and Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh (-4) to take home the individual title. The Ducks were the only team to finish under par. For the first time, a portion of the final round of the championship was broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
Lin put together an outstanding 54-hole effort to finish tied for fifth overall. In a competition where players battled windy conditions, the first-year was steady throughout, shooting at or under par all three rounds. Lin was one of only nine players to finish under par at the championships. She also finished tied for third with 12 birdies. This ties her best collegiate finish to-date (2024 Windy City Collegiate Classic) and earned her a spot on the All-Championship Team.
Yun, playing in her second conference championship, shot a two-over-par 218 to finish tied for 15th place. Dianna Lee, who won the PING/ASU Invitational in the penultimate event of the regular season, carded a three-over-par 219 to finish tied for 19th. Lauryn Nguyen, who topped all players on par-3's with an average of 2.75, shot an eight-over-par 224 to finish tied for 40th and Elise Lee carded a 12-over 228 to end tied for 61st.
This marked the second consecutive year Bulle Rock Golf Course, a five-time site of the KPGM Women's PGA Championship, hosted the conference championship.
