Ellis Climbs 5,000m Record Board At Raleigh Relays

Junior moves to eighth all-time at Northwestern in the event
RALEIGH, N.C. (March 28, 2025) – Skye Ellis ascended inside the top 10 in program history in the 5,000m run, as Northwestern cross country raised the curtain on its outdoor track slate this evening at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.
Competing in heat eight of the 5,000m run at North Carolina State University's Paul Derr Track & Field Complex, Ellis clocked in at 16:32.88, a time that sees her move to eighth all-time on Northwestern's outdoor record board in the event. The Jan Juc, Australia product is coming off a wildly successful indoor campaign in which she shattered the program's 800m run record, in addition to climbing inside the top five all-time in both the mile run and 3,000m run.
Anna Hightower also saw action in the 5,000m run, posting a time of 16:43.39 in the seventh heat of the event.
Northwestern continues its outdoor slate on Friday, April 4 at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
