Northwestern Football to Host Open Spring Practice on April 19

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern fans will have the opportunity to see the Wildcats in action during the team's open 'Spring Football on the Lake' practice on Saturday, April 19. The event will take place at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, the temporary on-campus stadium along the shore of Lake Michigan where the 'Cats will host their first five home games this fall.
Gates will open at 8:30 am, welcoming fans to enjoy complimentary donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate while exploring the Northwestern Athletics Equipment Sale in the Walter Athletics Center lobby, which will run until Noon.
Attendees can also sign up for a raffle from 9 to 10 am, with exciting prizes including autographed items by Coach David Braun, tickets to 2025 home games, and a chance to call a play at the end of practice. Players will take the field for warm-ups at 9:30 am, leading up to the official start of practice at 9:45 am, before concluding at 11:00 am, when Coach Braun will address the crowd.
Throughout the morning, DJ Commando will be on-site providing music. Dave Eanet, the longtime 'Voice of the 'Cats' who just wrapped up his 35th season behind the mic for Northwestern football, will serve as the in-venue host. After practice, fans will have the chance to hear from Coach Braun and former Chicago Bears offensive lineman and Wildcats radio analyst Ted Albrecht
Running concurrently with practice, the Equipment Sale will take place in the Walter Athletics Center lobby from 8:30 am to Noon, offering fans a chance to purchase exclusive team gear and apparel.
Northwestern's 2025 season includes five home games at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium. The Wildcats' have a four-game homestand in Evanston that begins with the home opener against Western Illinois on Saturday, September 6, followed by their conference opener against defending Big Ten champion Oregon on September 13. The stretch also features the university's Homecoming matchup vs. ULM on October 4.
