ROSEMONT, Ill. —  After completing 25-of-30 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-35 win over Minnesota on Saturday, Preston Stone has been named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Stone is Northwestern's first conference Offensive Player of the Week honoree since Bryce Kirtz earned the award on Sept. 25, 2023. He is the first Northwestern quarterback to do so since Ryan Hilinski in Week 0 of 2022.

The graduate student quarterback completed all 15 of his second-half passes, amassing 174 yards and two scores in the final two quarters as the Wildcats stormed back from a 15-point deficit. Stone's 83.3% completion rate tied the single-game program record among passers with a minimum of 30 attempts.

He is the first Northwestern quarterback to throw for at least 300 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions on an 80-plus % completion percentage since Brett Basanez did so against Michigan State on Oct. 22, 2005.

Stone's yardage and completion percentage marked Wildcat career-highs as he put forth his third consecutive turnover-free performance.

This season, Stone has recorded 2,011 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes and added a rushing score. The SMU transfer has helped Northwestern secure bowl eligibility for a second time in the past three seasons under Dan and Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach David Braun.

The Wildcats will close out the regular season in a battle for the Land of Lincoln Trophy against Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 29. Kickoff from Memorial Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on FOX and WGN Radio 720.
