Hild Places Sixth In Sabre, Leads ‘Cats At November NAC

Sophomore earns second top 20 finish of 2025-26
FORT WORTH, Texas (November 18, 2025) – Nisha Hild secured a sixth-place finish in the Division I Women's Sabre as No. 5 Northwestern fencing saw action at USA Fencing's November North American Cup (NAC) in Fort Worth, Texas.
Hild got off to a fast start in the Lone Star State, picking up four wins in pool competition ahead of entering the tableau. The Holliston, Mass., native collected four wins in direct elimination, a run highlighted by upset wins over No. 5 Xuanyi Zhang, 15-14, and No. 23 Nina Sayles, 15-10, en route to securing her spot on the podium.
Competing alongside Hild in the Division I Women's Sabre, Sophia Schiminovich rattled off three wins in direct elimination, knocking off No. 30 Nina Goldin, 15-9, and No. 35 Ashley Chen, 15-12, to place 32nd overall.
Houston, Texas native Karen Wang led the way for the Wildcat epeeists in the Division I section of the event. After four wins of her own in pool action, Wang, who finished 32nd, came away with three wins in the tableau, including a 15-7 win over No. 12 Catherine Witter in the Round of 128. Natasha Lee impressed in epee pool competition, sweeping all six of her bouts, on the way to finishing 65th.

The 'Cats two-day stay includes premier matchups with No. 2 Columbia and No. 9 Stanford, with the clash against the Lions set to open the weekend at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday morning on the campus of the United States Air Force Academy.
