COLUMBUS, Ohio (November 10, 2025) – In a weekend highlighted by wins over three top-10 foes, No. 5 Northwestern fencing racked up six victories in its 2025-26 dual meet debut at the Elite Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.

The 'Cats raced out of the gate on Saturday inside Ohio State University's French Field House, rattling off four straight wins. Following comfortable wins over Denison, 23-4, and Air Force, 20-7, in which Northwestern swept all three weapons, the Wildcats downed No. 7 Penn by a 16-11 final that saw the foil and sabre squads victorious. Northwestern's foilists went on to post a spotless 9-0 record in a 17-10 win over No. 13 North Carolina.

After closing out the opening day of action with a 17-10 setback to No. 3 Harvard, Northwestern bounced back with a 15-12 upset of No. 4 Princeton on Sunday morning, a victory that saw the Wildcats' foil and sabre teams post wins. The 'Cats followed up their triumph over the Tigers with a dominant 21-6 win against No. 10 Penn State in which Northwestern again won across all three weapons before falling to No. 1 Notre Dame, 22-5.

Allison Lee enjoyed an impressive weekend in leading the Wildcat foilists to a 6-2 mark, piling up 10 head-to-head wins, while the pairing of Brianna Ho and Juliana Hung added nine wins apiece. Megumi Oishi paced the sabre squad to a 5-3 overall record, coming away with eight victories, while Hailin Chen came away with nine wins to spearhead the attack for Northwestern's epeeists.
