EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern women's tennis got a final preseason tune-up over the weekend, competing in three days of singles and doubles action at the Quad Invite inside Combe Tennis Center. Visiting teams Northern Illinois, Notre Dame and Colorado faced off with each other as well as the hosting Wildcats as all four programs prepared for the start of dual season.

All ten Wildcats saw action in the event, which featured matches against Notre Dame on Friday, Colorado on Saturday and Northern Illinois on Sunday. Senior Sydney Pratt led the way for the 'Cats with a perfect 3-0 singles performance and a pair of doubles wins. Pratt won in straight sets on both Saturday (6-4, 6-0) and Sunday (6-0, 6-2) after taking her match by injury retirement on Friday. Both doubles wins came alongside partner Erica Jessel, with whom Pratt previously played to a 2-2 record during fall tournament action.

Autumn Rabjohns also went undefeated in singles matches, adding a trio of individual wins to her record. The sophomore opened Quad Invite play with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Notre Dame first year Bianca Molnar, who was ranked as high as tenth nationally in her recruiting class ahead of her first season of collegiate competition. The weekend continued for Rabjohns with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in straight sets against Colorado's Aya El Sayed on Saturday, then a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over NIU's Nataly Miroslavova Ninova to close out her tournament.

For the team's four newcomers, the event offered a first taste of competition in Combe. First years Jessel, Mika Dagan Fruchtman, and Maia Loureiro, along with sophomore transfer Katya Shepherd Johnson, all played their first matches in front of the home crowd.

As a group, Northwestern combined for a 7-4 performance in doubles play and a 15-9 record in singles action. Complete Northwestern results from the weekend can be viewed here.

With the Quad Invite behind them, Head Coach Claire Pollard's squad will gear up for their dual season opener next Saturday, January 18, against Butler. The 'Cats will host the Bulldogs at 4 p.m. CT at Combe Tennis Center. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.
