Prince Named To United Soccer Coaches Players To Watch List

Junior was a Second Team All-North Region selection in 2023
EVANSTON, Ill. (August 6, 2024) – Northwestern University junior Nigel Prince (Atlanta, Ga./Forsyth Academy) was one of 16 defenders to be named to the Men's Players to Watch List, which was announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.
Prince has been a fixture along the Wildcat backline over the past two seasons, starting in 29 of his 31 appearances. In 2023, Prince played in 1,524 of a possible 1,530 minutes of game action for head coach Russell Payne, contributing to six clean sheets. The 6-foot-2 defender also made his presence felt in the final third, scoring the game-winning goal in the Wildcats' 1-0 blanking of Indiana on October 24.
For his efforts last season, Prince was named a First Team All-Big Ten Conference honoree and also earned Second Team All-North Region distinction from the United Soccer Coaches.
Fresh off its first double-digit win season since 2013, Northwestern hosts Milwaukee on Saturday, August 10 at 6 p.m. in its exhibition opener. After closing its preseason slate on the road at Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, August 16, the 'Cats will raise the curtain on the 2024 regular season by entertaining Green Bay at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22 at the newly renovated Lanny and Sharon Martin Lakeside Facility.
