The Wildcats (15-2, 5-1 B1G) have been formidable at home, maintaining an impressive 43-game winning streak since 2020. This season, they clinched both the Big Ten Conference regular season and tournament titles, marking their third such achievement in the last four seasons under head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller.
Amonte Hiller, guiding Northwestern to its 25th NCAA Tournament appearance and 20th under her leadership, boasts an outstanding record with a perfect 31-0 in tournament games played in Evanston. Her career NCAA Tournament record stands at an impressive 53-11 (.828). Izzy Scane was recognized as the Big Ten Conference's Attacker of the Year, while Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller earned Coach of the Year honors as the Wildcats enter the NCAA tournament on a seven-game winning streak.
Most recently, Northwestern secured the Big Ten Tournament championship with a hard-fought 14-12 victory over Penn State, marking their fourth title in school history. Izzy Scane, named tournament MVP, tied the NCAA goal-scoring record and looks to break it against Denver.

In their previous matchup with Denver, Northwestern emerged victorious with a score of 14-10, led by standout performances from Madison Taylor, Izzy Scane, and Lindsey Frank.
Last year's semifinal showdown saw Northwestern dominate Denver 15-7, earning a spot in their first national championship game since 2012. Izzy Scane's eight-point performance highlighted Northwestern's offensive prowess, supported by goalkeeper Molly Laliberty's standout saves and solid defensive play. This victory propelled Northwestern to their ninth national championship appearance, with aspirations of claiming the title after previous playoff disappointments.
Opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+.
