Wildcats Head to Louisville For Three-Game Set

EVANSTON, Ill. – After a road sweep of Bethune-Cookman, Northwestern hits the road for a three-game series at Louisville this weekend. The series opener is set for 12 p.m. CT on Friday, March 8, with Saturday's game scheduled for 12 p.m. CT, and Sunday's series finale slated for 11 a.m. CT. All three games will be streamed on ACCNX.

Northwestern swept Bethune-Cookman for its first three-game series sweep since April 5-7, 2019 at Ohio State. In Game One, Northwestern rallied from a 6-3 deficit to score eight unanswered and claim an 11-6 win. With Sunday's game moved up to a Saturday doubleheader, NU claimed Saturday's first game 10-5 in 10 innings. McElfatrick and Jackson Freeman both hit home runs in the victory. Drew Dickson closed out the game's final five innings with two runs on five hits to earn the win. Northwestern took the series finale 8-4 for the series sweep. Kyle Potthoff earned the win, tossing five innings, surrendering one run on six hits. Owen McElfatrick hit .400 (6-for-15) including two doubles and a home run, driving in seven over three games in Daytona Beach.
