'Cats Open Big Ten Play at Home with Huskers

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern baseball is set to open Big Ten competition with a three-game series at home against Nebraska.

Northwestern dropped a midweek matchup to NIU earlier this week, 17-8 on a windy day at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park. Trent Liolios went 5-for-5 with four singles and a three-run home run in the first inning. Liolios's home run marked his third over the last six games, and his five hits are the most by a Wildcat since Tommy D'Alise recorded five hits in a 21-8 win at Milwaukee on May 10, 2022.
