'Cats Fall in Game One to Huskers, 5-2

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern fell 5-2 to Nebraska in Friday's B1G opener at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park.
The 'Cats grabbed a 1-0 lead off a opposite field solo home run from Owen McElfatrick, his third home run of the season.
The Wildcats responded to tie the game at two apiece in the top of the third on an RBI single from Bennett Markinson.
Nebraska added a pair in the seventh and one in the ninth en route to a 5-2 win.
Nolan Morr allowed two runs on four hits in 5.0 innings pitched, striking out two batters. Garrett Shearer (1-5) was handed the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in 2.0 innings pitched, striking out one and issuing three walks.
